Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is seeking a Channel Presales Technical Architect in the San Jose, CA area to grow technical advocacy for storage across the partner community. You will work with partner teams to design and deliver storage and data protection solutions and drive pipeline growth.

The role requires deep storage architecture expertise, partner enablement capabilities, and experience with virtualization (VMware/KVM) and at least one major public cloud.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of technical presales experience with a major storage vendor or storage-focused channel partner.
• Hands-on experience in pitching, demoing and architecting complex storage solutions.
• Knowledge of virtualization, including VMware or KVM, and at least two application stacks (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle or SAP).
• Hands-on working knowledge of at least one major public cloud (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud); certifications preferred.
• Expertise across the full data lifecycle: block, file, backup, ransomware protection and related solutions.
• Deep competitive knowledge of at least one major storage vendor.
• Expertise in at least one major vertical (financial services, manufacturing or healthcare) and its related solutions is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner technical advocacy and enablement: build relationships with partner tech and sales teams; enable partner engineers through sessions and labs; identify technical champions; represent at partner events.
• Solution architecture and opportunity support: join discussions with partners and customers to translate needs into an architected solution; deliver presentations linking HPE capabilities to business outcomes; support PoCs and configurations.
• Pipeline and growth: collaborate with account teams to generate and advance storage opportunities; protect and expand HPE footprint; maintain accurate pipeline data; ensure smooth handoffs to implementation.
• Education and experience: ensure candidates meet degree and experience criteria; assess virtualization, cloud, and storage expertise.
