Job summary

Xcel Energy is modernizing customer systems through its CIS Modernization Program. The Business Analyst Intern will support the Credit & Collections tower within the Business Transformation team, gathering and documenting requirements, supporting design workshops, and contributing to future‑state analyses.

The position is based in Amarillo, TX or Eau Claire, WI with a hybrid schedule and occasional collaboration at the Denver location.

Qualifications

• Current student pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, IS, or Data Analytics.
• Enrollment at an accredited college/university; able to work full-time in summer and part-time during school year.
• Willingness to travel 10-15%.
• Strong written/spoken communication and analytic skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in gathering, documenting, and organizing business requirements.
• Support requirements and design workshops.
• Document current-state and proposed future-state processes.
• Compile and summarize data to support analysis and decision-making.
• Coordinate with subject-matter experts and other towers.
• Support testing activities by documenting test scenarios and tracking results.
