Job summary

Xcel Energy is offering a Business Transformation Intern role focused on the CIS Modernization program within the Products & Services Tower. Based in Minneapolis or Denver, you’ll translate business requirements into actionable deliverables, collaborating with leads, SMEs, and cross‑functional teams to support design, build, and training activities.

Qualifications

• Current student at an accredited college pursuing a degree in business, energy, sustainability, technology, or organization management.
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week) or part-time during the school year (up to 20 hours a week) in person per hybrid policy.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support development and refinement of detailed business process designs and documentation as the program moves into design and build phases.
• Analyze and organize requirements, decisions, and dependencies across towers, including tracking gaps (e.g., non‑SAP solutions, cross‑system integrations).
• Assist in creation of training and change management materials to support future system adoption (job aids, process guides, presentations).
• Coordinate inputs from product owners, SMEs, and tower leads to ensure alignment across customer, billing, and reporting workstreams.
• Support program reporting and organization needs, including preparing summaries, tracking action items, and maintaining documentation repositories.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies or risks in current processes and proposing structured solutions.
