Job summary

The California School Boards Association (CSBA) is seeking a Business Analyst to support major technology programs under the Chief Technology Officer. You will document and analyze business needs, translate them into actionable specifications, and guide cross‑functional teams through solution delivery.

In this hybrid role, you will develop reports, dashboards, and process improvements, manage stakeholder expectations, and help ensure projects stay on schedule and within scope.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher with major coursework in education leadership, business administration, computer science or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in business analysis, information technology, education policy research and project management.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.

Responsibilities

• Elicit, analyze, and synthesize complex business needs into structured specifications.
• Create functional specs, user stories, workflows, and documentation to guide solution development.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and cross‑functional teams to deliver solutions aligned with business needs.
• Support project processes (scoping, planning, implementation, post‑launch support) and monitor progress to mitigate risks.
• Contribute to strategic plans and stay aware of education policy and industry trends.
• Occasional overnight travel and extra hours may be required.
