Job summary

Orange County Public Schools seeks a seasoned Business Analyst to support data-driven decision making, governance, and reporting across school operations. The role focuses on gathering requirements, translating them into technical specs, and driving data-centric improvements.

You will collaborate with district leaders, vendors, and staff to enhance data accessibility, quality, and reporting processes, ensuring timely insights for planning and evaluation.

Qualifications

• Understanding business processes, stakeholder needs, priorities, and outcomes.
• Gathering, documenting, and validating business requirements, rules, and measures.
• Translating business needs into requirements, analyses, and implementation plans.
• Facilitating communication among business users, technical staff, vendors, and leaders.
• Knowledge of data systems, reporting environments, and data sources in K-12 districts.
• Data governance, lifecycle management, and BI concepts.
• Project management, testing, change management, and documentation.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities from planning to evaluation.

• Respond to internal and external customers in a timely, accurate, courteous manner representing OCPS.
• Model effective use of technology in daily work, including communications and management tasks.
• Represent the district in internal and external presentations, meetings, and conferences.
• Inform supervisors of critical issues and developments.
• Develop understanding of business processes, workflows, and organizational priorities.
• Gather, document, validate, and maintain business requirements and performance measures.
• Analyze information from multiple sources to identify trends and support decisions.
• Communicate findings, risks, and limitations clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Coordinate project activities and support cross-functional initiatives.

Education

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

Master’s degree preferred
