Job summary

Volunteers of America Greater New York is seeking a Manager of Building Maintenance to lead maintenance across a portfolio of properties in a hybrid role based in New York, NY.

You will hire, onboard and supervise a maintenance team, oversee unit turnover and work orders, implement preventive maintenance, ensure compliance with housing codes and funder requirements, manage budgets, and coordinate repairs with on-site staff and vendors to keep facilities safe and operational.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with required supervision and multi-site ops experience in supportive housing or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of property management including physical plant and systems, budgeting, compliance, purchasing and inventory.

Responsibilities

• Hire, onboard and supervise a maintenance team across assigned portfolio.
• Articulate expectations and hold team accountable for budgets, compliance and staffing levels.
• Manage vacancies/turnover, work orders, inspections, violations, inventory and vendor contracts.
