Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP in Philadelphia is seeking a Billing Specialist to ensure accurate and timely client bills for assigned matters and to support partners with managing client inventories in a hybrid in-office/remote schedule.

Reporting to the Director of Firmwide Billing, the Billing Specialist will support the firm Partners by managing all aspects of billing for assigned clients and matters, with supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university with some accounting or financial background.
• Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel and PDF software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with mathematical aptitude.
• Detail oriented, highly organized and possesses excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently or on a team.

Responsibilities

• Supports the Partners by completing all aspects of billing for assigned clients and matters, with supervision.
• Reviews matter setup to ensure compliance with rate agreements and outside counsel guidelines.
• Identifies required reporting for budgets, alternate fee arrangements and accrual requests, with supervisor assistance for complex reporting.
• Reviews time entries and cost entries for compliance and notifies Partners of issues.
• Submits new timekeeper approvals for billed clients and contacts clients regarding new matters or other eBilling requirements.
• Completes billing for all assigned clients; for eBilled clients, ensures successful submission of invoices in the eBilling system and notifies supervisor of unresolved problems.
• Monitors eBilled submissions and assists with resolution of rejections with supervisor support.
• Alerts supervisor about past due receivables and works to resolve.
• Reviews monthly reports to identify overdue billing or collections and ensures proformas are generated.
• Distributes month-end proformas to appropriate Partners.
• With supervisor, contacts new clients to review billing and payment procedures and handles special requests.
