Job summary

Ascot Group seeks an experienced Assistant Vice President to underwrite Builder's Risk and course‑of‑construction projects across multiple markets, driving profitable growth with a strong technical foundation.

You will cultivate relationships with brokers and retail producers, assess project risk, and collaborate with risk engineering, claims, and actuarial teams to deliver superior outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years underwriting Builder's Risk or construction property insurance.
• Strong technical knowledge of construction classes, methods, and risk factors.
• Experience marketing and negotiating with construction brokers.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite Builder's Risk and course-of-construction projects with profitability focus.
• Evaluate risk quality and propose terms, pricing, and program structure.
• Develop broker relationships to grow retail distribution and opportunities.
• Collaborate with claims, risk engineering, and actuarial teams to optimize outcomes.
• Lead risk assessments on engineering plans, geotechnical reports, and site safeguards.
• Ensure CAT guidelines and reinsurance considerations are properly applied.
