Job summary

Ascot Group is seeking an experienced Assistant Vice President, Builder’s Risk, to underwrite construction projects and drive profitable growth within our National Builder’s Risk Practice. The role combines deep technical underwriting with producer responsibility across brokers, with emphasis on expanding retail broker distribution.

Location options include Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Chicago, New York, or Denver.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of Builder’s Risk or construction property underwriting experience.
• Strong knowledge of construction classes, delivery structures, and related risk.
• Ability to travel up to 30% for broker meetings and site visits.
• Bachelor’s degree required; professional designations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Underwrites Builder’s Risk and course-of-construction business for diverse projects.
• Evaluates risk quality, pricing, and terms to maintain profitability.
• Develops and maintains relationships with construction brokers and agents.
• Collaborates with claims, risk engineering, and actuarial teams to support policyholder success.
• Mentors other underwriters and shares technical expertise.
