Qualifications

• At least 8 years of Builder’s Risk underwriting experience.
• Strong knowledge of construction classes, methods, and project delivery structures.
• Familiar with CAT risk evaluation and catastrophe modeling tools.
• Proven marketing and negotiation skills with brokers.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
• Knowledge of facultative reinsurance placements.
• Professional designations such as CRIS, AMIM, or CPCU preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 30%.

Responsibilities

• Underwrites Builder’s Risk and course-of-construction business for a range of projects.
• Evaluates project risk quality and recommends terms and pricing.
• Develops relationships with construction brokers and agents to grow retail distribution.
• Reviews engineering documents to assess risk and initiate loss prevention actions.
• Collaborates with claims, risk engineering, and actuarial to support policyholder success.
• Assists with CAT guidelines and portfolio management.
