Job summary

Cognizant in Augusta, Maine, is seeking a Project Manager with AS/400 applications to lead complex delivery, enhancements, and modernization efforts for Property and Casualty insurance operations.

You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage risks, translate policy requirements into technical specs, and ensure quality, security, and audit compliance across deployments.

The role supports hybrid work with in-office collaboration a few days weekly and remote options as business requires.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of technology experience with enterprise projects or portfolios.
• Strong PM experience: planning, budgeting, risk, release delivery.
• Knowledge of AS/400 ecosystem: SQLRPGLE, RPGLE, Db2 for i, CLP, RPG, AS/400 utilities.
• Experience leading legacy modernization in an enterprise environment.
• Knowledge of Property and Casualty Insurance processes (policy, claims, billing).
• Experience with predictive/Hybrid delivery methodologies (Agile, Hybrid).
• Strong stakeholder management, analytical and decision-making skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end planning and delivery of AS/400 projects and milestones.
• Oversee development, enhancement, and modernization using AS/400 tools.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams and manage risks, issues, dependencies, and decisions.
• Translate insurance requirements into user stories and technical specs.
• Manage quality, change, release, and deployment activities with clear criteria.
• Provide concise project reporting on progress and financials.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture, security, data protection, and audit needs.
• Drive continuous improvement by applying lessons learned.
