Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Project Manager with AS/400 Applications to lead complex delivery, modernization, and enhancements for Property and Casualty Insurance. You will collaborate with developers, QA, BAs, architecture, and insurance stakeholders to deliver reliable enterprise solutions.

The role involves end-to-end planning, risk management, and cross-functional coordination in a hybrid setup, with three days per week in a Cognizant or client office and potential remote options.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of technology experience managing complex enterprise application projects or large-scale portfolios.
• Strong PM skills: planning, budgeting, resource coordination, risk management, stakeholder comms, release delivery.
• Working knowledge of AS/400 ecosystem: SQLRPGLE, RPGLE, Db2 for i, CLP, RPG, AS/400 utilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end planning and delivery of AS/400 projects, including scope, schedules, resources, budgets, dependencies and milestones.
• Oversee development, enhancement, and modernization initiatives within AS/400 ecosystem.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams, manage risks, issues, dependencies, and decisions to protect timelines, scope, budget, and quality.
• Translate policy admin, claims, and billing requirements into user stories and specs for insurance stakeholders.
• Manage quality, change, release, and deployment activities with acceptance criteria, test strategies, release plans, and post-production validation.
• Provide clear project reporting to business and technology stakeholders on progress, finances, risks, dependencies, and decisions.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture, information security, data protection, documentation, and audit requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement by applying lessons learned to AS/400 delivery processes.
