Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Project Manager with AS/400 Applications to lead complex insurance technology delivery for Property and Casualty operations. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage scope, budgets and schedules, and translate policy administration, claims, and billing requirements into tangible user stories and specifications.

Hybrid work is offered with three days per week in Hartford offices; remote arrangements may be considered.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of technology experience leading complex enterprise projects.
• Strong PM experience: planning, budgeting, risk and stakeholder comms.
• Working knowledge of AS/400 ecosystem: SQLRPGLE, RPGLE, Db2 for i, CLP.
• Experience leading legacy modernization in large enterprises.
• Knowledge of Property and Casualty Insurance processes.
• Experience with predictive, Agile or hybrid delivery methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end planning and delivery of AS/400 projects and initiatives.
• Oversee development, enhancement, and modernization using AS/400 tech.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams and manage risks, issues, and dependencies.
• Translate insurance requirements into actionable user stories and specs.
• Manage quality, release plans, and post-production stability.
• Provide clear project reporting on progress, budget, risks, and decisions.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture, security, data protection, and audits.
