Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Project Manager with AS/400 Applications to lead complex delivery, enhancement, and modernization for Property & Casualty insurance operations. You will work with developers, QA, business analysts, architecture groups, and stakeholders to deliver reliable enterprise solutions.

You will define scope, schedules, budgets, and milestones, coordinate cross-functional teams, and manage risks, issues, and decisions to protect timelines and quality.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of technology experience managing complex enterprise application projects or large-scale portfolios.
• Strong project management coverage: planning, financial mgmt, resource coordination, risk mgmt, stakeholder communication, QA, release delivery.
• Working knowledge of the AS/400 application ecosystem (SQLRPGLE, RPGLE, Db2 for i, CLP, RPG, AS/400 utilities).
• Experience leading legacy modernization initiatives in an enterprise environment.
• Knowledge of Property and Casualty Insurance processes (policy admin, claims, billing).
• Experience applying predictive, Agile, or hybrid delivery methodologies to complex programs.
• Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, analytical, problem-solving and decision-making.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end planning and delivery of AS/400 projects including scope, schedules, resources, budgets, dependencies, and milestones.
• Oversee development, enhancement, and modernization using AS/400 tools.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams and manage risks, issues, dependencies, and decisions to protect scope, schedule, budget and quality.
• Translate policy administration, claims, and billing requirements into user stories and technical specs.
• Manage quality, change, release, and deployment activities with acceptance criteria and test strategies.
• Provide clear project reporting on delivery progress, finances, risks, and decisions.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture, information security, data protection, documentation and audit requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement by applying lessons learned.
