Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Project Manager for AS/400 Applications to lead complex delivery and modernization initiatives across Property and Casualty insurance operations. You will collaborate with developers, QA, BAs, architecture, and stakeholders to deliver reliable enterprise solutions.

This hybrid role requires three days per week in a Cognizant or client office in Hartford, CT; remote arrangements may be considered.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of technology experience in enterprise projects.
• Strong project management skills across planning, budgeting, and delivery.
• Working knowledge of AS/400 ecosystem: SQLRPGLE, RPGLE, Db2 for i, CLP.
• Experience leading legacy modernization in large enterprises.
• Knowledge of Property and Casualty insurance processes.
• Experience with predictive, Agile, or hybrid delivery methods.
• Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, and decision-making.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end planning and delivery of AS/400 projects.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams and manage risks and dependencies.
• Translate policy administration, claims, billing requirements into user stories.
• Oversee quality, release, and deployment activities with test strategies.
• Provide clear project reporting to stakeholders on progress and budgets.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture, security, data protection, and audits.
• Drive continuous improvement using lessons learned.
