Job summary

Thomson Reuters is seeking a Software Engineer - AI for its CoCounsel Forward Deployed Engineering team. You will design and deploy AI-powered legal workflows, including contract review, litigation support, and regulatory analysis, interfacing with legal professionals and enterprise platforms.

You will work with AI solution engineers and architects to ensure scalable, secure, and accurate implementations, while shaping how AI is adopted in legal practice across clients.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of software engineering experience; production apps/ integrations.
• Hands-on experience with Python and AI/ML tooling/APIs.
• Understanding of ML/LLM concepts, prompt design, and workflow orchestration.
• Experience integrating external APIs, automating workflows, or building data pipelines.
• Strong communication skills collaborating with cross-functional teams including legal, product, and engineering.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization.

Responsibilities

• Partner with AI Solution Engineers, Architects, and senior engineers to design, build, and deploy AI-powered legal solutions.
• Translate legal workflows and business needs into reliable technical solutions using foundation models and enterprise platforms.
• Contribute to technical discovery, prototyping, integrations, and evaluation of AI outputs for legal use cases.
• Ensure systems deployed are practical, accurate, secure, and compliant with enterprise standards.
• Support client engagements through technical discovery sessions and requirement gathering.
