Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace is seeking an Advanced Aerospace Systems Engineer in Tempe, AZ, to help develop flight-critical actuation systems and integrated aerospace platforms. You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, controls, software, and test engineers across the full development lifecycle.

The role emphasizes multidisciplinary modeling, system-level design, and verification activities, with a hybrid work schedule from Tempe.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of Electro-mechanical Systems Engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform system requirements analysis, decomposition, allocation, and traceability for complex aerospace actuation systems
• Develop and integrate electro-mechanical actuation systems used in flight control applications
• Support architecture development and system-level design trade studies
• Develop physics-based models of actuators, motors, power transmission systems, sensors, and control systems
• Analyze system performance, stability, dynamic response, reliability, and failure modes
• Design and evaluate control architectures supporting flight-critical applications
• Conduct modeling and simulation activities using MATLAB/Simulink and related platforms
• Support development and integration of motor controllers, sensors, feedback devices, and embedded control systems
• Define and execute verification and validation activities, including laboratory, subsystem, and system-level testing
• Support Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), qualification, environmental, and functional testing efforts
• Lead root cause investigations and corrective action implementation for complex technical issues
• Interface directly with aerospace customers on technical requirements, system performance, and development activities
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship across multidisciplinary engineering teams
