Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace seeks an Aerospace Systems Engineer II to help develop flight‑critical actuation systems. You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, controls, software, and test engineers to deliver integrated aerospace systems across the development lifecycle.

The role is based in Tempe, AZ on a hybrid schedule. You will engage in system requirements, modeling, verification, and testing, ensuring robust actuation solutions for flight control applications and interfacing with

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
• Minimum of 1.5 years of Electro‑mechanical Systems Engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform system requirements analysis, decomposition, allocation, and traceability for complex aerospace actuation systems.
• Develop and integrate electro‑mechanical actuation systems used in flight control applications.
• Support architecture development and system‑level design trade studies.
• Develop physics‑based models of actuators, motors, power transmission systems, sensors, and control systems.
• Analyze system performance, stability, dynamic response, reliability, and failure modes.
• Design and evaluate control architectures supporting flight‑critical applications.
• Conduct modeling and simulation activities using MATLAB/Simulink and related platforms.
• Support development and integration of motor controllers, sensors, feedback devices, and embedded control systems.
• Define and execute verification and validation activities, including laboratory, subsystem, and system‑level testing.
• Support Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HIL), qualification, environmental, and functional testing efforts.
• Interface directly with aerospace customers on technical requirements, system performance, and development activities.
