Honeywell Aerospace is seeking an Advanced Aerospace Systems Engineer to help develop flight-critical actuation systems, translating electronic commands into precise mechanical motion. Join a multidisciplinary team in Tempe on a hybrid schedule, collaborating with mechanical, electrical, controls, software, and test engineers across the development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
• Minimum of 3 years of electro-mechanical systems engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform system requirements analysis, decomposition, allocation, and traceability for complex aerospace actuation systems.
• Develop and integrate electro-mechanical actuation systems used in flight control applications.
• Support architecture development and system-level design trade studies.
• Develop physics-based models of actuators, motors, power transmission systems, sensors, and control systems.
• Analyze system performance, stability, dynamic response, reliability, and failure modes.
• Design and evaluate control architectures supporting flight-critical applications.
• Conduct modeling and simulation activities using MATLAB/Simulink and related platforms.
• Support development and integration of motor controllers, sensors, feedback devices, and embedded control systems.
• Define and execute verification and validation activities, including laboratory, subsystem, and system-level testing.
• Lead root cause investigations and corrective action implementation for complex technical issues.
• Interface directly with aerospace customers on technical requirements, system performance, and development activities.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
