Job summary

Relias is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist for our Morrisville, NC headquarters. This hybrid role supports day-to-day AP, travel and expense transactions, and reconciliations, partnering with suppliers and internal teams to ensure accurate invoicing and timely payments.

You will handle routine discrepancies, support 1099 and unclaimed-property activities, and help maintain compliant records, while leveraging AI-enabled tools to improve accuracy and efficiency in a confidential environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of full-cycle accounts payable, invoice processing, payment methods, expense administration, supplier inquiries, and accounting documentation.
• Ability to review invoice coding, approvals, payment details, expense documentation, and aging information for accuracy and completeness.
• Proficiency with spreadsheet, ERP, procure-to-pay, expense, and payment tools relevant to the function.
• 2+ years of accounts payable, invoice or expense processing, payment operations, bookkeeping, or related accounting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field

Responsibilities

• Independently process and code supplier invoices and direct-entry transactions; validate duplicate risks, supporting documentation, approvals, and due dates.
• Research and resolve routine invoice workflow issues; escalation of integration or systemic errors.
• Prepare and verify payments and funding; complete OFAC, positive-pay, ACH authorization, debit-block, and payment-detail controls.
• Resolve returned, voided, reversed, or exception payments within authority and retain support.
• Review expense reports, receipts, lodging expenses, and reimbursements; resolve aged items and routine policy exceptions.
• Support expense-user profiles, reporting, corporate-card documentation, policy administration, and employee inquiries.
• Perform transaction matching and support reconciliations, period-end processes, and aging.
• Support 1099 reporting and unclaimed property activities through documentation review and data cleanup.
• Resolve routine supplier and employee inquiries and document outcomes; protect confidential information during processes.
