Job summary

System One, Inc. is seeking an Accounting Assistant in Rockville, Maryland for a contract role with a hybrid schedule (2 days onsite, 3 days remote).

The position involves supporting the Department of Finance's Accounts Payable function, with 40 hours per week. Responsibilities include processing invoices, reviewing disbursements, and performing GAAP-compliant transactions using Oracle Financials and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Four years of fiscally-related clerical experience including posting journal entries and processing fiscal actions using automated systems.
• Experience in high-volume Accounts Payable with a focus on matching invoices to receiving records and POs preferred.
• Proficiency with Oracle Financial Modules.
• Proficiency in data entry and Microsoft applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform fiscal assistant work in the Department of Finance, Accounts Payable section.
• Review and process non-payroll disbursements accurately and timely.
• Assist with Oracle Financial transactions: invoices, purchasing, iExpense, GL, grants.
• Prepare and post disbursement transactions in accordance with GAAP.
• Investigate and resolve issues or errors in processing transactions.
• Audit and evaluate transactions for propriety and completeness.
• Perform reconciliations.
