Role and Responsibilities

Montgomery County is seeking a Fiscal Assistant/Accounts Payable. Work schedule is Onsite - Rockville, MD.

The Department of Finance, Division of the Controller, Accounts Payable Section, requires contract staff to perform professional fiscal assistant work. Fiscal Assistants in the Accounts Payable Section are responsible for ensuring the timely accurate review, evaluation, determination of propriety, and processing of all non-payroll related disbursements.

The Contractor(s) must understand Oracle Financial Modules and assist County departments with Oracle Financial transactions such as payment invoice processing, purchasing, iExpense, General Ledger, Project and Grant inquiries and transactions, and must be proficient in Data Entry and all Microsoft applications.

Duties may include, but are not limited to, preparing and processing disbursement transactions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and investigating and resolving any issues, discrepancies, or errors arising from processing the transactions; auditing and evaluating transactions and ensuring propriety and completeness; and performing reconciliations.

Contract staff will work side-by-side with County staff to facilitate knowledge transfer.

Contract staff will report directly to an Accountant/Auditor Supervisor in the Department of Finance, Division of the Controller, Accounts Payable Section.
