Job summary

Hy-Vee, Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic Hy-Chi Department Cook for the Hy-Chi kitchen in our Lincoln store. You will prepare a variety of hot and cold dishes using authentic techniques, keeping cases stocked with freshly made items throughout the day.

No prior experience is required; training is provided to help you succeed, with a fast-paced kitchen environment and a strong focus on customer service.

Qualifications

• Must be able to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
• Learn and apply proper food safety, sanitation, and kitchen procedures.
• Able to communicate clearly with customers and co-workers.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a smile and assist with their needs throughout the store.
• Prepare woks by cleaning, heating to temperature, and adding oil.
• Cook soups and meats, prepare vegetables and sauces, combine ingredients.
• Stock hot cases and refill as needed throughout the shift.
• Fill the cold case with fresh-made food and prep for the next day.
