Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Hy-Chi Department Cook to prepare hot and cold foods using authentic techniques in a fast-paced kitchen. You will keep hot and cold cases stocked with freshly made items throughout the day and contribute to a high-quality customer experience.

No prior cooking experience is required as training is provided; a high school diploma or equivalent is expected, with the ability to work well in a team and follow safety procedures.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a smile and assist them with their needs throughout the store.
• Prepare woks by cleaning, heating to the right temperature, and adding oil for cooking.
• Cook soups and meats, prepare vegetables and sauces, and combine ingredients to create dishes.
• Place food in hot cases, monitor quantities, and refill as needed during the shift.
• Fill the cold case with fresh-made items and prep for the next day after your shift.
