Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Hy-Chi Department Cook to prepare a variety of hot and cold foods in a fast-paced Hy-Chi kitchen. You will fry, stir-fry, and season dishes, keeping cases stocked with freshly made products and ensuring quality each shift.

This hourly role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and excellent customer service while following Hy-Vee guidelines and dress code. Training is provided and opportunities to contribute to a dynamic team.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; training provided.
• Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
• Good communication with customers and co-workers.
• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a smile and assist with needs throughout the store.
• Prepare woks by cleaning, heating to temperature, and adding oil.
• Cook soups and meats, prepare vegetables and sauces with spices.
• Place food in hot cases, monitor quantities, and refill as needed.
• Fill cold case with fresh-made food and prepare items for next day.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area and follow safety guidelines.
