Job summary

Hy-Vee, Inc. is seeking a friendly Hy-Chi Department Cook for our store kitchen. You will prepare a variety of hot and cold dishes, keep the Hy-Chi offerings stocked, and deliver great service to shoppers throughout the day.

No prior cooking experience is required as training will be provided. This hourly role emphasizes teamwork, food safety, and accuracy in meal preparation within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; training is provided.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Basic math and counting skills needed for serving portions.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a friendly smile and assist as needed.
• Prepare woks, heat and oil, cook soups and meats, and prep vegetables.
• Fill hot and cold cases with freshly made foods and monitor stock.
• Maintain clean work area and follow dress code and safety guidelines.
• Take orders at the Hy-Chi counter and assist with product orders.
• Support other tasks and special projects as needed.
