Job summary

Trane Technologies has an exciting opportunity for a Turnkey Developer. This role includes working with internal teams and customers to identify and develop turnkey HVAC contracting projects, including scope of work development, cost estimating, working with the local contractors, and proposal support.

You will lead cost estimating, develop project scopes from site evaluations, review bid documents, and coordinate with Account Managers to secure competitive pricing and successful proposals.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent experience.
• Project Management and/or HVACR related work experience required.
• Experience with construction estimating, project bidding, and/or procurement.
• Working knowledge of all facets of construction including mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems and knowledge with the operation of HVAC systems, electrical systems and temperature controls.
• Understanding of construction methods/practices and ability to communicate with and direct subcontractors in an effort to obtain critical proposal information.
• Flexibility to work outside normal work hours/weekends, as required, including some travel with occasional overnight stays.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations.

Responsibilities

• Cost estimates for materials, sub-contractors, purchased equipment, labor, and related activities for bidding and pricing.
• Develops detailed scope based on conceptual scope and site evaluations for competitive bidding.
• Creates detailed cost estimates with vendor quotes and scope definitions.
• Possess knowledge of HVAC project scope, cost, and construction aspects.
• Collect project data to assemble scope and estimates, including site condition evaluations.
• Analyze plans and specifications to compile detailed cost estimates.
• Take-off and price purchased equipment ensuring quantity and configuration accuracy.
• Review bid documents and subcontractor proposals for conflicts and constructability issues.
• Lead pre-bid meetings with Account Managers to review scope and strategy.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and manage cost variations with vendors.
