Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking an HVAC Project Engineer to support pre-construction planning, scope definition, coordination, and cost estimates after an initial concept is identified. The role collaborates with project developers, estimators, managers, engineers, subcontractors, clients, and operations leaders to clearly scope, budget, schedule, and prepare for execution.

Qualifications

• Must have general knowledge of basic engineering, electricity, mechanical HVAC systems, and building construction.
• Ability to communicate with subcontractors to obtain critical proposal information.
• Experience coordinating with project teams and managing pre-construction activities.

Responsibilities

• Translate project concepts into HVAC system solutions using Trane products and controls.
• Define project scope, develop installation budgets, and prepare preliminary schematics and bid packages.
• Gather and evaluate project data, drawings, and site conditions to prepare cost estimates.
• Identify constructability risks and cost-saving opportunities in pre-construction.
• Lead or support pre-bid meetings with teams and subcontractors.
• Coordinate subcontractor outreach and qualification efforts to optimize costs.
