Job Description

We are looking for a talented individual to join our team as an entry‑level HVAC Technician and support residential energy‑efficiency programs. In this hands‑on role, you will travel to customers’ homes within an assigned territory using a company vehicle to perform home energy assessments and install energy‑saving equipment such as smart thermostats, lighting upgrades, and water‑saving devices. You will also assist with the installation and troubleshooting of AC load control devices while providing a positive, customer‑focused experience. This is an excellent opportunity for recent HVAC graduates or early‑career technicians looking to gain field experience, develop technical skills, and grow within the energy‑efficiency and sustainability space. The role follows a primarily Monday‑Friday schedule, with flexibility required based on program needs. All tools and equipment, including PPE and a company vehicle, will be provided. The successful candidate will live within commutable distance to Waterloo IA. $1000 sign‑on bonus will be included.

Responsibilities

• Travel to residential homes within an assigned territory using a company vehicle
• Install residential energy‑saving measures (e.g., smart thermostats, lighting, aerators)
• Conduct home energy assessments
• Install and troubleshoot AC load control devices
• Maintain schedule flexibility as required (typically Mon‑Fri, 8am–5pm)

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in an HVAC program
• 0–1 year of HVAC experience
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving background
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
• A great attitude and willingness to learn and grow

Compensation

Hourly Rate: $30/h

Compensation Range: $21.10 – $31.70 (USD)

Employment Conditions

This is a safety‑sensitive position and may include field work (such as work in industrial/commercial locations and customer homes), warehouse work, or required driving on behalf of the company. Individuals provided a conditional offer of employment for this position must successfully pass a post‑offer, pre‑employment drug test and consent to the company obtaining a motor vehicle report evidencing a satisfactory driving record. Applicants for driving positions must hold a valid driver’s license, and individuals provided a conditional offer of employment must successfully pass a drug test and maintain a clean driving record as an ongoing requirement for continued employment.
