Job summary

Actalent in Aurora, IL is seeking a Service Coordinator to manage work orders, coordinate field technicians, and provide customers with clear updates from initial request through completion. The role suits an experienced refrigeration or HVAC technician transitioning off the tools into an office-based position with leadership potential.

You'll review orders, prepare quotes, and support scheduling while working closely with leadership to improve processes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of field service experience in refrigeration, HVAC, or related services.
• Hands-on background in refrigeration, freezer, or cooler systems.
• Proficient with work order software and standard office tools.
• Strong communication with technicians and customers, in person when needed.
• Ability to read and organize work orders in a fast-paced setting.
• Willing to transition from field technician to coordination/leadership.

Responsibilities

• Review incoming work orders for accuracy, completeness and prioritization.
• Communicate daily with field technicians to clarify details and support assignments.
• Serve as primary contact for customers with scheduling updates and follow-up.
• Meet with customers on-site to review jobs and gather information for quotes.
• Use work order software to enter, update, and track service calls from start to finish.
• Prepare or assist with quotes for refrigeration, freezer, cooler, and HVAC work.
• Coordinate commercial and residential service jobs, balancing workloads and timelines.
• Collaborate with leadership to improve processes and deliver high-quality service.
• Support transition from field service to leadership-oriented coordination toward a service manager role.
