Job summary

Walmart is seeking a Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration, in the USA to install, maintain, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial settings. You will interpret schematics, diagnose issues, and lead field teams while following safety and environmental regulations.

The role includes on-call rotations, driving company vehicles, and coordinating with customers and management. Experience with OSHA/EPA standards and building codes is required.

Qualifications

• HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
• Or 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
• Hold and maintains Type I and Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman where required.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass motor vehicle report.
• Clean driving record with no DUI/DWI/OUI convictions in last five years.
• No more than two moving violations in last three years.
• No preventable accidents in last three years.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and calibrate HVAC and refrigeration systems, including ductwork, control panels, and building pneumatics.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues in commercial and industrial equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance to extend equipment life and minimize downtime.
• Maintain and repair refrigeration units such as racks, walk-ins, and reach-ins.
• Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with HVAC/R regulations.
• Lead and mentor field teams on technical procedures and safety practices.
• Manage service calls, documentation, and coordinate with external providers as needed.
• Operate company vehicles safely to complete service assignments within assigned regions.
