Job summary

Hussmann Corporation is seeking a skilled Service Technician to maintain, diagnose, and repair refrigeration, heating, and air-conditioning systems in supermarkets, convenience stores, and cold storage facilities. The role includes hands-on maintenance, starting up new equipment, and mentoring peers.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, EPA 608 certification, and a valid driver’s license. This position requires the ability to work nights or weekends and lift up to fifty pounds.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• HVAC-R technical schooling is preferred.
• EPA 608 Universal Certification is required or preferred depending on role.
• External candidates: 10 years in field or 7 years with technical school; internal: 7 years with OJT & Skills Assessment.
• Must have a Valid Driver’s License and safe driving record.
• Must be physically able to walk, bend, climb, lift up to 50 lb, and work nights/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, diagnose and repair refrigeration, heating and air-conditioning systems in supermarkets, convenience stores and cold storage facilities.
• Assist Service Technicians with routine maintenance on supermarket refrigeration systems and merchandisers.
• Partner with other technicians for start-up of new refrigeration equipment.
• Teach HVAC/R processes and diagnostics to others; mentor junior technicians.
• Prepare and submit work tickets, timesheets, and accurate documentation.
• Manage truck inventory and maintain vehicle in good condition.
