Job summary

Hussmann Corporation is seeking a skilled HVAC/R Technician to maintain, diagnose, and repair refrigeration and related systems in supermarkets and cold storage facilities. You will work independently, build first-line customer relations, and identify opportunities for service or sales.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with preference for an HVAC-R technical school degree and EPA 608 certification. A valid driver’s license and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• HVAC-R technical school degree preferred.
• External candidates: 7 years field experience or 5 years with certification; Internal candidates: 3 years as a Certified Technician with on‑the‑job training.
• EPA 608 Universal Certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, diagnosis and repair of refrigeration, HVAC, and related systems in commercial settings.
• Operate independently with minimal supervision and develop customer relations for potential sales opportunities.
• Manage truck inventory and handle parts with care to minimize waste and maintain vehicle readiness.
• Complete paperwork and invoicing using a hand-held device in a thorough, accurate manner.
• Identify system issues and implement repairs including refrigerant and oil handling, and valve sizing.
