Job summary

DeBra-Kuempel Inc. is seeking an HVAC/R Service Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance, installation, and repair of heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems in commercial and industrial settings.

The role requires diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment, reading schematics, and using computer-based tools. The ideal candidate will have experience with electrical components, safety procedures, and the ability to work from schematics and blueprints under SOPs.

Qualifications

• Experience in HVAC/R mechanic work including installation and maintenance of heating and air conditioning equipment.
• Ability to diagnose, maintain, adjust, repair, and replace HVAC systems and components.
• Possess prior computer experience and be able and willing to learn and effectively utilize computer-based technology.
• Possess the competencies, willingness, and ability to perform the duties of position.
• Proficient in electrical safety procedures.
• Proficient in risk assessment and determination of PPE appropriate to specific tasking.
• Competent analyzing situations and making technical and safety decisions based on specifications and codes.
• Good organizational, communication and planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on heating and cooling equipment as per preventive maintenance program.
• Install and startup HVAC equipment.
• Diagnose, repair, and perform scheduled maintenance on HVAC/R systems and equipment.
• Communicate with customers regarding planned tasks, issues or impacts.
• Advise HVAC Service Manager of job progress and material/labor needs.
• Order replacement parts as needed.
• Work with electrical components from disconnect through equipment.
• Submit reports as required by supervisor.
• Respond to emergency service calls during and outside normal hours.
• Document hours, tasks, materials and processes accurately.
