Job summary

Trane Technologies seeks a Contracting Project Specialist to support Complex Solutions Projects on customer sites. You will help manage installation, commissioning, and service tasks with focus on quality, safety, and budget adherence.

You will lead on-site coordination, liaise with customers and trades, and ensure timely project completion. The role requires strong HVAC knowledge, construction experience, and flexibility for travel and overtime.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required, and typically at least 5-10 years of experience in Commercial HVAC Installation or General Construction. Technical School or formal training is preferred.
• Background in project management, project coordination or related work.
• Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software and working proficiency with handheld computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad). Experience with Procore preferred
• State Contractor Licenses Preferred (e.g. HVAC Journeyman, Boiler Operator, Gas Installer etc.).
• Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but limited to: DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
• Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, diagnose, repair, and startup HVAC systems with knowledge of air conditioning theory and controls.
• Plan, analyze, and complete assigned projects on time.
• Ensure compliance with internal contracting processes.
• Conduct site surveys, replacements, modifications and startup as needed.
• Prepare for on-site installation by examining layout and coordinating with other trades.
• Maintain stock of inventory and company equipment; document activities.
• Record parts, materials, labor, and costs; returns unused resources.
• Provide sales leads to appropriate personnel.
• Complete paperwork for each job, including time, progress and duration.
• Turn in required reports in a timely manner.
• Provide technical support to customers on assigned projects.
• Communicate with customers and owners, subcontractors, and field staff.
• Investigate concerns and maintain customer satisfaction.
