Job summary

Harris Companies is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to provide HVAC project support across all phases, ensuring safety, budgets and schedules are met. You will handle document control, RFIs, submittals and field coordination with the project team.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor's in mechanical engineering or construction and at least 2 years in the building and construction industry, with strong reading of construction drawings and good communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of knowledge/experience of the building & construction industry.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and comprehend construction documents.
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles.
• Understanding of business administration and management principles.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills with good verbal and written communication while working in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Review, organize, and distribute Contract Documents (drawings, specs, RFIs, etc.) to team members.
• Distribute and log activities; assist in drafting and tracking RFIs and responses.
• Attend field coordination meetings and distribute notes; assist in quality control documentation.
• Assist in identifying, tracking and reporting changes to original scope of work.
• Coordinate with suppliers/vendors to estimate projects; perform basic estimating using software.
• Assist project manager and field foreman to track labor productivity in accounting software.
