Job summary

Harris is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support HVAC construction projects across phases, ensuring safety, budget, deadlines and clear communications. You will handle document control, RFIs, field coordination and closeout documentation while coordinating with suppliers and project teams.

The role requires a bachelor’s in a related field and at least 2 years in construction, with strong reading of drawings and knowledge of mechanical systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of knowledge/experience of the building & construction industry.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and comprehend construction documents.
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles.
• Understanding of business administration and management principles.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills with good verbal and written communication while working in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Review, organize and distribute contract documents (drawings, specifications, schedules, RFIs, Construction Bulletins, etc.) and shop drawings/submittals to team members.
• Distribute and log all activities for the team and assist in drafting, submitting and tracking RFIs.
• Attend field coordination meetings and distribute meeting notes.
• Administer/update progress drawings and as-built drawings; assist in project closeout documentation.
• Identify, track and report changes to original scope of work; assist with estimating activities.
• Maintain procurement logs and assist in tool/equipment rental tracking.
• Perform site walkthroughs and inspections to support safety compliance.
