Job summary

Harris in the United States is seeking an Assistant Project Manager - Mechanical Construction to support HVAC construction projects from kickoff to closeout. You will help manage standards, budgets, deadlines and communications, while coordinating with field teams and suppliers.

Role emphasizes safety, document control, and coordination: reviewing drawings, RFIs and submittals, logging activities, attending field meetings, and assisting with quality control and closeout documentation.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a relevant field or journeyman level achieved.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in the building & construction industry.
• 2+ years of experience with mechanical systems.
• 2+ years of experience with business administration and management principles.
• Ability to read and comprehend construction documents.
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals.

Responsibilities

• Review, log and distribute drawings, specs, RFIs, and submittals to team members.
• Draft, submit and track RFIs and responses.
• Attend field coordination meetings and distribute notes.
• Assist in quality control documentation and closeout records.
• Support project cost and labor tracking in accounting software.
• Coordinate with suppliers to estimate projects.
• Assist in procurement and scheduling of equipment.
• Read and interpret construction documents.
