Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an HVAC Pre Sales Field Engineer to perform on-site surveys, assess mechanical equipment, and prepare design deliverables for pre-sales activity in Marietta, GA. You will collaborate with COE engineers, local branches, and subcontractors to keep proposals accurate and timely.

The role requires HVAC field experience, CAD proficiency, and strong communication and multitasking abilities, with travel to customer and branch locations as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5 years of field experience in HVAC operations, installation/service, or 8+ years in HVAC sales.
• Minimum of five years in HVAC with controls, equipment, service, and/or maintenance programs.
• Experience with IP networking concepts.
• Experience with CAD software.
• Strong written and oral communication, plus interpersonal skills.
• Proficient PC skills including Office 365 and SharePoint.
• Ability to learn JCI platforms (Salesforce, NxGen, Selection Navigator).
• Strong time management and multi-tasking abilities.
• Willingness to drive to customer and Johnson Controls locations; travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct accurate on-site surveys and equipment assessments to support pre-sales.
• Coordinate with subcontractors for bid quotes and pricing proposals.
• Prepare COE survey docs and deliverables using Salesforce, Office 365, and SharePoint.
• Review project costing with local installation or operations management before handoff to sales.
• Produce site survey forms and floorplan drawings with device placement per standard processes.
• Maintain familiarity with localsubcontractor availability and AHJ permitting requirements.
• Support pre-installation debriefs to ensure smooth handoff to installation teams.
• Maintain knowledge of JCI Controls, Equipment, and Service offerings.
