Ferguson is hiring a knowledgeable Counter Sales Associate to support plumbing and HVAC contractor customers. You will act as a trusted advisor, combining product expertise with strong customer service to help clients select the right parts and solutions for their projects.

You will engage customers across channels, upsell when appropriate, and collaborate with the outside sales team to ensure order accuracy and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in customer service or sales; HVAC or related industry preferred.
• Sales mindset with ability to meet goals, build relationships, and influence purchasing decisions.
• Strong communication skills for consultative selling and customer engagement.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers at the counter, over the phone, and via email to understand needs and recommend solutions.
• Serve as product expert by applying knowledge of plumbing and HVAC products to guide decisions.
• Drive sales growth by upselling, cross-selling, and promoting strategic products and programs.
• Use catalogs, computer systems, and databases to locate parts and provide accurate information.
• Process transactions efficiently while maintaining a positive customer experience.
• Collaborate with Outside Sales to support account growth and service delivery.
• Manage special orders and follow up on status, back-orders, and delivery timelines.
