Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection design for water and infrastructure projects across North America. You will work independently on multidisciplinary projects, from preliminary design to construction, and mentor EITs as you grow with the team.

The role requires PE licensure, strong knowledge of codes, and the ability to travel to various project sites in the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and PE licensure.
• Minimum of 7 years of mechanical engineering experience in HVAC/Plumbing/Fire Protection design.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems from concept through construction phases.
• Develop basis of design reports and technical memorandums.
• Prepare drawings, specs, and OPCC.
• Respond to RFIs and attend site visits for design compliance.
• Perform HVAC and Plumbing load calculations and system sizing.
• Coordinate design with other disciplines throughout project.
• Mentor engineers in training (EIT).
• Travel to job sites (5%).
