Job summary

Ferguson is seeking a knowledgeable, results‑driven Counter Sales Associate to assist plumbing and HVAC contractor customers. You will act as a trusted advisor, leveraging product expertise and problem‑solving skills to guide purchasing decisions and support business needs.

The role emphasizes relationship building, sales growth, and exceptional service from Monday to Friday, 7:30am–4:00pm. Benefits and a competitive pay range are provided.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in customer service or sales; plumbing/HVAC exposure preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid state issued license required.
• Sales mindset with ability to meet goals and influence decisions.
• Strong communication for consultative selling.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers at the counter, on the phone, and via email to understand needs and recommend solutions.
• Serve as a product expert by learning and applying knowledge of plumbing and HVAC products.
• Drive sales by upselling, cross-selling, and promoting programs.
• Use catalogs and systems to locate parts and provide accurate information.
• Process transactions accurately while ensuring a positive customer experience.
• Collaborate with Outside Sales to support account growth and service.
• Manage special orders, back-orders, and delivery timelines.
