Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals in Minnesota seeks a Mechanical Engineer 2 to design components and assemblies for prototype HVAC products, refine current designs, and contribute to new concepts.

You will ensure drawings, specifications, production details, and product documentation meet schedules, work with manufacturing, and lead design reviews in a fast-paced setting.

Required: Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering with 3 years’ experience; CAD/CAM and MATLAB/LabVIEW; Inventor proficiency; PE license preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 3 years of experience.
• Proficient in CAD/CAM and MATLAB/LabVIEW; Inventor proficiency required.
• PE license preferred; bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
• HVAC systems knowledge and design experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create parameters and specifications for new concepts and ensure manufacturability.
• Assist manufacturing during prototyping and production; perform follow-up engineering as needed.
• Ensure engineering designs meet safety, quality, performance, reliability, and durability requirements.
• Lead engineering projects and coordinate with design teams to integrate with production.
• Design and prepare prototypes meeting sales, marketing, manufacturing, and service needs.
• Review documentation for completeness and correctness.
