Job summary

MDS Staffing seeks a Sr. Mechanical Engineer in Burnsville, MN to lead project teams in designing, prototyping, troubleshooting and providing customer support for high‑quality equipment.

You will coordinate with production to achieve efficiency, oversee certifications, build prototypes with management and develop training materials for service and sales staff. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

5+ years of HVAC or electromechanical design experience are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience designing HVAC and/or electromechanical equipment.
• Strong hands-on and mechanical skills.
• Strong electrical skills and the ability to work safely with 3 phase power.
• Leadership and professional skills.
• Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams in designing, prototyping, troubleshooting and providing customer support.
• Coordinate with production staff to produce high quality equipment with maximum efficiency.
• Oversee and manage equipment certifications with approved agencies (UL, etc.).
• Work with production staff to gear up for and dial in productions of equipment.
• Coordinate with management to build prototypes.
• Gather information from field applications regarding performance and applicability of products.
• Provide product demonstrations to potential customers.
• Write or coordinate manuals and training materials for service and operations staff.
