Job summary

American Air Filter is seeking a Design Engineer II to design, develop and manufacture new and existing HVAC products from concept to production. You will create 3D models in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD, revise drawings to meet customer specs, and prepare BOMs and shop packs within ERP systems.

The role emphasizes experience with sheet metal design (3-5 years) and a background in HVAC principles, supporting cross-functional teams through product realization and documentation control.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years sheet metal product design experience.
• Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• Experience with Inventor 3D modeling and AutoCAD desirable.

Responsibilities

• Review job packages and specifications to insure product is in compliance with customer requirements.
• Participate in new product development projects.
• Generate product and part drawings using Autodesk AutoCAD & Inventor 3D modeling software or equivalent programs.
• Revise, as required, existing drawings based on customer requirements.
• Prepares manufacturing Bill of Materials utilizing ERP software.
• Prepares manufacturing instructions sheets, IOM's and shop packages.
• Maintains document control as required under the Quality Assurance Program.
• Analyze and resolve questions and problems in the shop.
• Use established standards to select the correct parts and materials for each product.
• Contact the customer if information is needed to verify product specifications.
• Generate complex weldments and weld maps, sizing welds according to AWS requirements
• Perform other related duties as required by management
