Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team seeks a Mechanical Engineer to contribute to the design and documentation of mechanical HVAC systems for new construction and renovations. You will participate in BIM-based modeling, prepare design drawings, perform calculations, and coordinate with architects and other engineers under supervision.

Qualifications include a Mechanical Engineering degree, 5+ years in buildings design, and a PE license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in the buildings design industry.
• Professional Engineering license is required.
• LEED credential preferred (LEED AP or LEED Green Associate).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical codes, energy codes, NFPA, ASHRAE.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to full documentation for new construction and renovations.
• Evaluate, select, and engineer mechanical HVAC systems.
• Develop design through sketches, models, diagrams, and drawings.
• Use BIM to develop 3D models of building systems.
• Prepare and revise site plans, floor plans, diagrams and details.
• Participate in project meetings with clients, contractors and vendors.
• Coordinate project specifications with construction documents.
• Conduct field surveys and prepare field reports.
