Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to contribute to HVAC design for government projects, under supervision, and as a team member on larger efforts. You will assist in evaluating, selecting, and engineering mechanical systems, verifying code compliance, and developing designs with BIM tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in the buildings design industry.
• Professional Engineering license required.
• LEED Green Associate or LEED AP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and develop full documentation for new construction and renovations.
• Evaluate, select, specify, and engineer mechanical HVAC systems for a project.
• Engage in development of a design through sketches, models, diagrams, and other visuals.
• Utilize BIM technologies in development of 3D models of building’s mechanical systems.
• Prepare and revise documentation across mechanical phases: site plans, floor plans, diagrams, and details.
• Participate in project coordination meetings with internal teams and external partners.
• Support client contact to establish design criteria and review progress through construction.
• Coordinate project specifications with construction documents.
• Conduct field surveys of existing conditions.
• Prepare field reports and punch lists.
