Job summary

Hoffman & Hoffman, Inc. is seeking an Applications Engineer/Inside Sales Engineer to assist the outside sales team by delivering high-level technical support, selecting optimal HVAC equipment, and developing existing customer relationships.

The role requires strong HVAC knowledge, proficiency with Windows, MS Office, and design software, plus excellent time management and communication skills. 2–4 years' experience and a technical degree are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of commercial/industrial HVAC equipment and ability to read plans and specs.
• Proficiency with Windows OS and MS Office; familiarity with AutoCAD/Bluebeam is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with sales to understand customer requirements and promote products.
• Assess HVAC equipment needs and determine system requirements.
• Maintain records and develop project plans and selections.
• Complete take-offs and technical selections from building plans.
• Develop project proposals and assemble submittal packages.
• Review orders for correct equipment and pricing.
• Provide weekly shipping/status updates on open orders.
• Attend industry events to stay current on trends and equipment.
• Maintain revision notes on selections, pricing, and proposals.
• Provide technical install support to contractors and end users.
• Coordinate responses with factory application and technical support engineers.
