Job summary

Ambient Enterprises Holdco LLC is seeking an Inside Sales Engineer to apply HVAC design principles and equipment selection to commercial projects. You will analyze drawings, interpret specs, size equipment, and prepare engineered submittals for contractors, engineers, and owners.

Primarily office-based with occasional site visits, you will collaborate with Outside Sales, Project Managers, and Service teams, using selection software and AutoCAD to ensure code-compliant, performance-driven

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum three years of HVAC design or equipment application experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and engineering software.
• Ability to interpret mechanical plans and construction documents.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze mechanical plans and project conditions to develop equipment selections.
• Evaluate load requirements and system performance for equipment configurations.
• Apply HVAC design principles to evaluate system performance, constructability, and code compliance.
• Perform equipment sizing and application analysis using manufacturer selection software and engineering tools.
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to determine equipment requirements and system compatibility.
• Evaluate substitution requests and confirm technical equivalency.
• Review submittals and technical documentation for compliance with project requirements and design intent.
• Provide technical guidance to contractors, engineers, and building owners regarding equipment application and system performance.
• Troubleshoot equipment and application issues by analyzing system conditions and recommending technical solutions.
• Coordinate with manufacturers to resolve technical questions and confirm application requirements.
• Collaborate with Outside Sales Engineers, Project Managers, and Service teams to ensure engineered solutions align with project requirements.
• Prepare technical submittal packages and engineering documentation.
• Verify equipment selections meet applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.
• Maintain technical knowledge of product lines, HVAC system applications, and industry standards.
