Position Overview: We are seeking a technically skilled Inside Sales Engineer to support our sales team by evaluating HVAC solutions and ensuring they meet customer requirements. This role serves as a critical link between engineering and sales, providing technical expertise, assessing product applications, and helping develop solutions that are both technically sound and commercially viable. The ideal candidate combines strong HVAC knowledge with excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer needs, project specifications, and application requirements.
- Perform technical evaluations of HVAC product offerings, including system selection, sizing, and performance analysis.
- Prepare and review technical proposals, submittals, and quotations to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
- Provide pre-sales technical support, including product recommendations, system configurations, and value engineering options.
- Interpret blueprints, mechanical schedules, and engineering drawings to develop appropriate HVAC solutions.
- Act as a technical liaison between customers, sales representatives, and internal engineering or product teams.
- Respond to customer inquiries related to product performance, installation, and application.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues during the sales process.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HVAC products, industry standards, and emerging technologies.
- Support continuous improvement by providing feedback on product performance and market needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- Entry level to 2 years of experience in HVAC systems, applications engineering, or technical sales support.
- Strong understanding of HVAC principles, including load calculations, duct design, and system components.
- Familiarity with industry standards, codes, and energy efficiency requirements.
- Proficiency in selection software, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with HVAC equipment selection tools (e.g., AHU selection, chiller/VRF systems).
